• • SVOBODA ECOLOGICAL RESOURCES Providing the Sharper Edge in Natural Resources & Environmental Consulting June 7, 1999 Mr. Bruce Kerber North Suburban Development, Inc. 1333 Osborne Road Spring Lake Park, MN 55432 RE: Project Name: Project Location: Project Number: Project Description: Dear Mr. Kerber: .UN 11 1999 Highland Meadows East Approximately 5 acres: SE1 /4 NE1 /4 Section 8, T. 31 N, R. 22 W, Lino Lakes, Anoka County, Minnesota 99 -033 Wetland Classification, Identification and Delineation Services As requested, Svoboda Ecological Resources (SER) visited the above referenced property on June 4, 1999 to examine the site for the presence of areas meeting, wetland criteria. Criteria for determining jurisdictional wetlands are as described in the 1987 U.S. Corps of Engineers ' Wetlands Delineation manual as required by the Minnesota Wetland Conservation Act. The approximately five acre property is located immediately south of 79th Street and west of Lake Drive in Lino Lakes, Minnesota. At the time of the site visit, the eastern half of the parcel was primarily forested, and the western half was comprised.of open meadow. There are two existing houses along the northern end. The dominant vegetation in the open field is smooth brome (Bromus inermis)._ Common milkweed (Asclepias syriaca), vetch (Vicia villosa), yellow goatsbeard (Tragopggon dubius), yarrow (Achillia millefolium), some reed canary grass (Phalaris arundinacea), and red clover (Trifolium pratense) were also noted. The forested area on the eastern half was dominated by'pin oak, (Quercus ellipsoidalis) and white oak (Quercus alba), with an understory'of common buckthorn (Rhamnus cathartica) and Virginia creeper (Parthenocissus quinquefolia). The soil map of Anoka County indicates that the western half of the parcel is comprised of Soderville fine sand, and the eastern half is Zimmerman fine sand; both of which are non - hydric soil types. The National Wetland Inventory map and the DNR Protected Waters map do not show any wetland areas or protected waters on the site. After having reviewed the maps and walked the site, we have determined that there are no jurisdictional wetland areas located on the property.
