Anderson, Clerk- Treasurer <br />DATE August 3,1999 <br />TOPIC Consideration of Block Party Request, Red hawk <br />Trail Cul-de -Sac <br />VOTE REQUIRED Simple Majority <br />BACKGROUND: <br />A block party is planned on the Red Hawk Trail cul-de -sac starting at 5 :00 p.m. on <br />Friday, September 10th and ending at 10:00 p.m. This neighborhood holds block parties <br />every year. <br />The attached map shows the location of the party and also shows the property owners <br />who have signed the petition acknowledging they were notified about the party. <br />Both the Police Department and the Public Works Department have been given <br />information about the party. The Public Works Department will provide barricades for <br />blocking the party site. The Police Officer assigned to this precinct will probably visit the <br />ply <br />In the past, the City Council has encouraged block parties as it presents an opportunity for <br />neighbors to get acquainted with one another. These parties also create the opportunity to <br />form a neighborhood crime watch unit if one has not already been formed. <br />OPTIONS: <br />1. Approve the request for a block party. <br />2. Return the matter to staff for further information. <br />3. Do not approve the block party. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Option No 1 <br />
