The results of the bid opening are presented below. City Council action is <br />required to award a construction contract to the lowest responsible bidder. <br />Company <br />Dave Perkins Contracting, Inc. <br />Penn Contracting , Inc. <br />Volk Sewer and Water, Inc. <br />W. Miller, Inc. <br />Engineer's Estimate <br />Bid Amount <br />$ 81,761.00 <br />$ 82,486.70 <br />$ 92,679.25 <br />$ 96,282.65 <br />$ 91,434.00 <br />The low bid is approximately 11% below the Engineer's Estimate for this project. A copy <br />of the complete bid tabulation is attached. Funding for the project will be through <br />special assessments levied against benefiting properties as property owners connect to <br />the utility system and the City's Area and Unit Fund. <br />The completion date for the utility installation is October 31, 1999, and the final <br />completion date for this project is November 15, 1999. <br />OPTIONS: <br />1. Return to staff for further review. <br />2. Adopt Resolution Number 99 -91, accepting bids and awarding a construction <br />contract to Dave Perkins Contracting, Inc. for the 77th Street Utility Extension <br />project. <br />3. Not adopt Resolution No. 99 -91. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends that Resolution Number 99 -91 be adopted <br />
