ANNUAL AUDIT REPORT PRESS PUBLICATIONS Verification of Distribution VERIFIED AUDIT CIRCULATION'S interviews with respondents within the designated circulation area indicate that 99.5% receive the appropriate PRESS PUBL /CAT IONS newspaper (±0.7% at the 95% confidence interval). 94.5% of the respondents receiving the appropriate PRESS PUBLICATIONS newspaper read or look through it. Methodology A representative sample of residential telephone numbers was selected from within the primary circulation area of the appropriate PRESS PUBLICAT IONS newspaper. The following telephone directory was used: St. Paul and Suburbs (Cole Publications, 1996 -97). The following required questions were asked: 1. "Does your household normally receive the appropriate PRESS PUBLICAT IONS newspaper? It's a free community newspaper delivered to your home on appropriate day." 2. "Do you or does someone in your household normally read or look through the appropriate PRESS PUBLICATIONS newspaper?" Interviews were conducted by telephone on October 8, 1996 - October 11, 1996. A sufficient number of interviews was completed to ensure a margin of error not to exceed 5.0 %. Calls were made in the late afternoon,and early evening hours with members of the household 18 years or older. 401 interviews were validated for use in this analysis. The sample was randomly selected so as to be proportional to the listed telephone numbers in the target areas. Audit of Internal Records On 6/6/97 VERIFIED conducted an on -site audit of printing, distribution and financial records in order to substantiate data submitted by the client publication. This examination followed guidelines prepared in conformity with generally accepted circulation auditing procedures, involving records covering all distribution methods utilized for qualified circulation during the period covered by this report. Standard methods of sample selection were used on source printing and distribution records and on corroborative financial documents. The results of the audit warrant the issuance of this report as an accurate statement of the qualified circulation of the client publication.
