AGENDA ITEM 4A <br />STAFF ORIG iATOR; Rick DeGardner <br />DATE; January 20, 1998 <br />TOPIC: Request from Anoka Electric Cooperative <br />for Electrical Easement in Outlot A <br />West Oaks Addition <br />Anoka Electric is requesting the city to grant a 10' wide <br />electrical easement through Outlot A, of the West Oaks Addition <br />to ensure adequate voltage support for area residents during <br />peak electrical usage periods as well as increase the service <br />reliability for this and the surrounding area. <br />The proposed connection runs about 1600'. It will utilize <br />underground cable installed via directional boring equipment to <br />minimize impact on the, wetlands. AEC will work with the <br />existing residential property owners affected by the <br />construction to gain access for the construction equipment and <br />assure them that the impact to their property will be minimal. <br />Any damage incurred during the construction will be repaired by <br />AEC. <br />AEC will be responsible for all costs associated with this <br />project such as survey costs and recording fees. AEC has agreed <br />to provide some in -kind services throughout our park system. <br />The city does not perceive to have any short -term or long range <br />plans with this parcel of land, <br />Larry Peterson, Vice President of Corporate Services, will be at <br />the January 26th Council Meeting to answer any questions. <br />OPTIONS <br />1. Approve the electrical easement. <br />2.
