AGENDA ITEM 6C <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: David Ahrens, Public Works Director /City Engineer <br />DATE: January 26, 1998 <br />TOPIC: Resolution No. 98 -09 - Order Improvement and Preparation of Plans, <br />Lake Drive Trunk Utility Project, 79th Street to Lino Lakes Elementary <br />School <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The public hearing for the Lake Drive Trunk Utility Project was held on Monday, November 24, <br />1997. The 60 day waiting period has expired with no petitions submitted to the City either in <br />favor of the project or against the project. Staff has received two letters (attached) in support of <br />the project. <br />The project includes the construction of trunk and lateral sanitary and watermain along Lake <br />Drive from 79th Street to Main Street and along Main Street from Lake Drive to Lino Lakes <br />Elementary (refer to attached exhibits). The trunk sanitary sewer line is proposed to be located <br />on the east side of Lake Drive with a smaller diameter lateral sanitary sewer line located on the <br />west side providing service to the realty building and properties to the south. A lateral sanitary <br />sewer line is proposed to extend west along the south shoulder of Main Street providing service <br />to the properties located south of Main Street. Utility stubs are proposed to accommodate <br />future extensions of the utility system. <br />Funding and special assessments are as outlined in the feasibility report following State <br />Statutes and the Lino Lakes Charter. The estimated cost for this project is $836,479. Funding <br />for the project will be through special assessments levied against benefiting properties as <br />property owners connect to the utility system and the City's Area and Unit Fund.
