AGENDA 1' 8C <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Dave Ahrens, Gitjt Engineer /Public Works Director <br />DATE: March 9, 1998 <br />TOPIC: Resolution No. 98-31, Restrict Parking on portions of <br />Ware Road. <br />BACKGRtittlND <br />Per Minnesota State Aid Rules, the cry must pass a resolution that restricts <br />parking along reconstructed state aid roads that do not have parking lanes <br />provided' in the design. Ware Road has portions of the roadway that does not <br />have dedicated parking lanes. Therefore, council must adopt the attached <br />resolution to accommodate state aid rules. The only area that does have <br />parking lanes provided in the design is the East side of Ware Road, North of lot <br />11, block 4, Shenandoah. (Refer to attached map.) <br />Q <br />1. <br />Return to staff for additional review. <br />2. Adopt Resolution 98-31, restricting parking on the West side of Ware <br />Road between Ash Street and Birch Street, and the East side of Ware <br />Road between Ash Street and the south property line of lot 11, block 4, <br />Shenandoah. <br />Do not adopt Resolution No. 98 -31. <br />Staff recommends that Resolution No. 98 -31 be adopted by Council due to the <br />planned design of Ware Road and State Aid rules regarding parking lanes. <br />
