Council Member <br />adoption: <br />introduced the following ordinance and moved its <br />CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />COUNTY OF ANOKA <br />ORDINANCE NO. 04-98 <br />AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE ENVIRONMENTAL BOARD, <br />CHAPTER 217 OF THE LINO LAKES CITY CODE <br />The City Council of the City of Lino Lakes hereby ordains as follows: <br />Chapter 217, Environmental Board is hereby established as follows: <br />217. Environmental Board <br />217.01 Purpose. The purpose of this chapter is to provide aid and advice <br />to the council in its efforts to encourage productive and enjoyable harmony between <br />people and their environment; to promote efforts which will prevent or eliminate <br />damage to the environment and stimulate the health and welfare of people; to enrich <br />the understanding of the ecological systems and natural resources important to the <br />city; to advise the City in the use and management of its natural resources in order <br />to preserve and enhance the environmental amenities for present and future <br />residents, and to improve and insure a lasting quality of life within the city. <br />217.02 Establishment The Lino Lakes Board on Environment, <br />hereinafter referred to as the board, is hereby established. The board shall operate in <br />accordance with Chapter 210. <br />217.03 Duties. The board shall: <br />(1) Oversee a Natural Resource inventory and management plan, and <br />create a database to be used to make land use recommendations that: <br />1. Preserve important natural and cultural sites. <br />2. Provide greenways and corridors connecting natural areas and <br />other points of interest. <br />
