Council Member adoption: introduced the following ordinance and moved its CITY OF LINO LAKES COUNTY OF ANOKA ORDINANCE NO. 04-98 AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE ENVIRONMENTAL BOARD, CHAPTER 217 OF THE LINO LAKES CITY CODE The City Council of the City of Lino Lakes hereby ordains as follows: Chapter 217, Environmental Board is hereby established as follows: 217. Environmental Board 217.01 Purpose. The purpose of this chapter is to provide aid and advice to the council in its efforts to encourage productive and enjoyable harmony between people and their environment; to promote efforts which will prevent or eliminate damage to the environment and stimulate the health and welfare of people; to enrich the understanding of the ecological systems and natural resources important to the city; to advise the City in the use and management of its natural resources in order to preserve and enhance the environmental amenities for present and future residents, and to improve and insure a lasting quality of life within the city. 217.02 Establishment The Lino Lakes Board on Environment, hereinafter referred to as the board, is hereby established. The board shall operate in accordance with Chapter 210. 217.03 Duties. The board shall: (1) Oversee a Natural Resource inventory and management plan, and create a database to be used to make land use recommendations that: 1. Preserve important natural and cultural sites. 2. Provide greenways and corridors connecting natural areas and other points of interest.
