AGENDA ITEM 4A <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Brian Wessel <br />DATE: 4/13/98 <br />TOPIC: Consideration of Economic Development Authority <br />Advisory Board appointments <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The Economic Development Authority Advisory Board (EDAAB) expanded in <br />1994 from five to seven voting members. Currently, two seats on have expired <br />(Roger Jensen and Glenn Rehbein) and Dean Tollefson resigned, leaving a <br />vacancy, for a total of three open seats. <br />Seven people have applied for the three open seats. Staff recommendation was <br />to reappoint Roger Jensen and Glenn Rehbein, to retain John Bergeson (City <br />Council) and Bill Johnson (P&Z) as liaisons, and to appoint John Milbauer to the <br />vacant seat reserved for a banker (see memo dated 2/9/98). <br />The following candidates have officially expressed interest in being considered: <br />Glenn Rehbein <br />Roger Jensen <br />John Milbauer <br />Fritz Johnson <br />Patricia Rickaby <br />Paul Easterday <br />Guy Herr <br />*Incumbent <br />The City Council has had the opportunity to interview candidates. The Council <br />has two issues to consider: <br />I) Appointment of individuals to the open seats: <br />Term Expires <br />1. 1211998 (Vacancy ) <br />2. 12/1999 <br />3. 12/1999 <br />
