The <br />bids were then opened and read aloud. A total of five responsive bids were received. S. <br />R. Weidema, Inc. submitted the lowest bid in the amount of $1,420,498.13. The bids were <br />checked for mathematical accuracy and the tabulation is enclosed. The engineer's <br />estimate was $1,485,390.70. <br />S. R. Weidema, Inc. has successfully completed projects for OSM and the City of Lino <br />Lakes. Based on their previous performance on similar projects, we anticipate that S. R. <br />Weidema, Inc. is capable of successfully completing the Phase 2 Town Center Parkway <br />Street and Utility Construction project. <br />At this time, we are persuing final approvals from Mn/DOT State Aid and procurement of <br />all necessary easements. State Aid rules require that final approval of funds be obtained <br />prior to award. We are recommending that the City accept the bids but delay award to the <br />second meeting in April. We recommend that the City award the construction contract to <br />S. R.
