AGENDA ITEM 5A -1 <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Brian Wessel <br />DATE: 5/26/98 <br />TOPIC: Consideration of Resolution No 98 -72, Accept Bids <br />and Award Contracts for Bid Package No. 1, Civic <br />Complex <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Bid Package No. 1 for the Lino Lakes Civic Complex includes earthwork, site <br />utilities, footings and foundations, and the ordering of steel. Adolfson & Peterson <br />(A &P), the construction manager, has separated the bid packages so that <br />construction can begin and the deadline for the Early Childhood Center can be <br />met. Adolfson & Peterson supervised the opening of the bids on Wednesday, <br />May 13, 1998 at 2 p.m. at city hall. The second bid package on the Civic <br />Complex will go out in June. <br />The lowest responsible bidders for Bid Package No. 1 are as follows: <br />Earthwork: <br />Veit & Company <br />1400 Veit Place <br />Rogers, MN 55374 <br />$88,750 <br />Site Utilities: Glenn Rehbein Excavating $33,995 <br />8651 Naples St. NE <br />Blaine, MN 55374 <br />Concrete /Masonry: Crosstown Masonry <br />1322 159th Ave. NE <br />Ham Lake, MN 55304 <br />$166,500 <br />Structural Steel: Premier Construction Systems $53,470 <br />11238 Pheasant Lane <br />Maple Grove, MN 55369 <br />These proposals would bring the cost for Bid Package No. 1 to $342,715, which <br />is in line with current budget estimates. <br />
