POLICY: <br />APPROVED: <br />EFFECTIVE DATE: <br />LOCATION: <br />APPLICABILITY: <br />Public Employee Conduct <br />Lino Lakes City Council <br />22 June 1998 <br />Personnel Policy - Section 8.01 <br />All Employee Groups <br />8.01 Public Employee Conduct <br />Chapter 214 of the Lino Lakes City Code outlines a Code of Conduct that applies <br />to all "elected, appointed and hired officials and employees of the city." Public officials <br />and employees hold office for the benefit of the public. Elected officials and employees <br />are expected to support and uphold the objectives of the electorate, and the policies that <br />support those objectives. <br />In addition, specific standards of conduct are as follows: <br />A. DISCLOSURE OF CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION <br />No person covered by this code shall, without proper legal authorization, disclose <br />confidential information concerning the property, government, or affairs of the city, nor <br />shall he /she use such information to advance the financial or other private interests of <br />him/herself or any other person. <br />B. GIFTS <br />No person covered by this code shall directly or indirectly solicit any gifts or <br />accept or receive any gift of substance (over $5.00) whether in the form of money, <br />services, loan, travel, entertainment, hospitality, promise or any other form, under <br />circumstances in which it could be reasonably inferred that the gift was intended to <br />influence him or her in the performance of his or her official duties or was intended to as <br />a reward for any official action on his or her part. <br />
