Centennial Fire District
7741 Lake Drive
Lino Lakes, MN 55014
(651) 784 -7472
October 28, 1998
Mary Kay Wyland
City of Lino Lakes
1189 Main Street
Lino Lakes, MN 55014
Dear Mary Kay,
You have asked me to comment on the extension of West Shadow Lake
Drive to 62nd Street. I have reviewed the notes and maps. I have the
following comments:
- Red Maple Lane area has been an area that is difficult to access with
our fire trucks. The tanker trucks that come from the east must go to
Ware Road and then backtrack on 62nd to get to this area. The
extension of West Shadow Lake Drive would improve this situation.
- The Red Maple Lane area does not have city water or hydrants. A fire
hydrant on West Shadow Lake Drive and 62nd would reduce our
distance that we must travel to get water for the tankers.
- The existing homes within 1,000 feet of the hydrant on West Shadow
Lake Drive and 62nd should get an improved insurance rating for fire
insurance.
I have not addressed any of the other issues, such as traffic and runoff,
because these are issues outside our area of expertise.
Sincerely,
Milo Bennett
Fire Chief
