• <br />Council Member Gallup introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />RESOLUTION NO. 09 -79 <br />RESOLUTION ACCEPTING A $336,645 GRANT FROM THE OFFICE OF JUSTICE <br />PROGRAMS FOR SUPPORT OF THE TRANSITION TO INTELLIGENCE LED <br />POLICING; <br />WHEREAS, The Lino Lakes Police Department utilizes a Problem Oriented Policing <br />philosophy in its approach to achieving the goals of crime reduction and <br />quality of life improvement; and <br />WHEREAS, The Lino Lakes Police Department continues to build on this success by <br />transitioning to Intelligence Led Policing to better utilize our resources <br />towards these goals; <br />WHEREAS, The Lino Lakes Police Department applied for and was awarded a <br />Recovery Act Justice Assistance Grant of $336,645 from the Office of <br />Justice Programs in non - supplanting funds to continue this transition; <br />• WHEREAS, The grant funds one officer from 10/1/2009 — 9/30/2011 and a second <br />officer from 1/1/2010 — 12/31 /2011; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the Lino Lakes City Council members, do <br />hereby accept the grant of $336,645. <br />o , n B geson, Mayor <br />Julie = artell, ity Clerk <br />Adopted by the Lino Lakes City Council this 28th day of September 2009. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Council <br />Memberr einert and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor <br />thereof: <br />Gallup, Reinert, O'Donnell, Bergeson <br />The following voted against same: <br />none (Absent - Stoltz) <br />Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. <br />
