In conjunction with the District 53A Republican organization, Mr. Keefe is
proposing an All American Pig Roast, a fundraiser /family outing on August 12, 2010
between the hours of 4:00 and 10:00 p.m.
The elements planned for the event as are follows:
candidate speeches;
fundraiser activities;
live music;
food prepared by a licensed vendor;
beverages, including beer and wine.
Since this is a commercial event that will be open to the public and the planners
anticipate attendance over 50 people, the event falls under the city's special event
regulations. Therefore Mr. Keefe has submitted an application for a special event
permit. Staff, including police and fire, has reviewed the application to ensure that the
event plans don't violate any city regulations and for public safety considerations. Since
the event is at a private residence, there are no temporary liquor license requirements.
OPTIONS:
1. Approve Resolution No. 10 -67, authorizing a special
event permit for Mr. James Keefe, for the All American
Pig Roast event
2. Deny approval of Resolution 10 -67
