Resolution No. 08 -26, Approving Change <br />Order No. 11, Lake Drive /35W Improvement <br />Project <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 Vote Required <br />BACKGROUND: <br />On May 14, 2007 the City Council awarded the Lake Drive /I -35W Improvement Project <br />to Lunda Construction Company in the amount of $7,531,701.71. The center pier and <br />north abutment have been completed. Work is currently taking place on the south <br />abutment walls. <br />Change Order No. 9 is a deduct for concrete materials that failed to meet the gradation <br />requirements. This concrete was used for curb and gutter. The Mn /DOT Concrete <br />Office has determined that the material can remain in place at a reduced price. The <br />change order represents a credit in the amount of $300.00. <br />Change Order No. 10 is a deduct for concrete materials that failed to meet gradation <br />requirements. This concrete was used for the bridge abutment. The Mn /DOT Concrete <br />Office has determined that the material can remain in place at a reduced price. The <br />change order represents a credit in the amount of $360.00. <br />Change Order No. 11. a portion of the south approach panel is in conflict with the new <br />guard rail that needs to be installed. The project engineer has determined that a <br />portion of the approach panel will need to be removed in order to construct the new <br />guardrail. The total cost of Change Order No. 11 is $1,600.00 <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />• Staff is recommending approval of Resolution No. 08 -24 through No. 08 -26. <br />
