Resolution No. 08 -26, Approving Change Order No. 11, Lake Drive /35W Improvement Project VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 Vote Required BACKGROUND: On May 14, 2007 the City Council awarded the Lake Drive /I -35W Improvement Project to Lunda Construction Company in the amount of $7,531,701.71. The center pier and north abutment have been completed. Work is currently taking place on the south abutment walls. Change Order No. 9 is a deduct for concrete materials that failed to meet the gradation requirements. This concrete was used for curb and gutter. The Mn /DOT Concrete Office has determined that the material can remain in place at a reduced price. The change order represents a credit in the amount of $300.00. Change Order No. 10 is a deduct for concrete materials that failed to meet gradation requirements. This concrete was used for the bridge abutment. The Mn /DOT Concrete Office has determined that the material can remain in place at a reduced price. The change order represents a credit in the amount of $360.00. Change Order No. 11. a portion of the south approach panel is in conflict with the new guard rail that needs to be installed. The project engineer has determined that a portion of the approach panel will need to be removed in order to construct the new guardrail. The total cost of Change Order No. 11 is $1,600.00 RECOMMENDATION: • Staff is recommending approval of Resolution No. 08 -24 through No. 08 -26.
