STAFF ORIGINATOR: <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />MEETING DATE: <br />TOPIC: <br />AGENDA ITEM 6D <br />Michael Grochala <br />August 11, 2008 <br />Resolution No. 08 -85, Approving Change Order <br />No.15, Lake Drive /35W Improvement Project <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 Vote Required <br />BACKGROUND: <br />On May 14, 2007 the City Council awarded the Lake Drive /I -35W Improvement Project <br />to Lunda Construction Company in the amount of $7,531,701.71. <br />The Lake Drive /35W ramp signal systems were planned to include 40 foot street light <br />poles on each signal base in accordance with Anoka County requirements. However, <br />during installation it was discovered that the relocated Xcel Energy power lines did not <br />provide adequate clearance from the light poles. In order to provide safe clearance <br />• three 30 foot light poles were substituted. To continue with the installation Anoka <br />County provided 30 foot poles from their inventory provided that the items are replaced. <br />Change Order No. 15 directs the contractor to provide the replacement poles and <br />deliver to Anoka County. The total cost of the change order is $10,000. <br />Staff is working with Mn /DOT and Anoka County to arrange for their acquisition of the <br />remaining 40 foot poles no longer needed for the project. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff is recommending approval of Resolution No. 08 -85. <br />ATTACHMENTS <br />1.
