Council Member Gallup introduced the following resolution and moved its <br />adoption: <br />CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />RESOLUTION NO. 08-113 <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CERTIFICATION OF DELINQUENT WEED <br />ABATEMENT CHARGES TO BE COLLECTED WITH THE 2008 PROPERTY TAXES <br />PAYABLE IN 2009 <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to City Code Section 904, any weeds or grass growing upon any <br />lot or parcel of land in the City of Lino Lakes to a greater height than eight <br />(8 "), or which have gone or about to got to seed are declared to be a <br />nuisance, and <br />WHEREAS, certain property owners in noncompliance with such code requirements were <br />notified and provided the opportunity to comply with such provisions, and <br />WHEREAS, upon failure of the property owner to comply with the provisions of said <br />notice, the City Weed Inspector ordered the abatement of such nuisance, in <br />accordance with the City Code Section 904, and charged the property owner <br />thereof for expenses incurred by the City, and <br />WHEREAS, certain properties are delinquent in the payment of such charges, and <br />WHEREAS, the City Clerk has prepared a list of properties with delinquent charges to be <br />certified to the Anoka County Auditor for collection with the 2008 property <br />taxes, payable in 2009, and <br />WHEREAS, notice of such certification was mailed to affected property owners, and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has met to consider the certification of such deliquent <br />charges. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Lino Lakes, Minnesota <br />that the Clerk is hereby authorized to certify the deliquent charges attached hereto as <br />Exhibit "A" to the Anoka County Auditor to be collected with the 2008 property taxes, <br />payable in 2009 at an interest rate of 8.00% per annum. <br />Julie <br />artell, City Cle <br />
