• <br />• <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: <br />MEETING DATE: <br />TOPIC: <br />VOTE REQUIRED: <br />BACKGROUND: <br />AGENDA ITEM 1G <br />Julie Bartell, City Clerk <br />January 24, 2011 <br />Consider Adoption of Resolution No. 11 -04, <br />Approving an application for a Temporary On -Sale <br />Liquor License for the Lino Lakes Lions Club <br />Simple Majority (3/5 Vote Required) <br />The Lino Lake Lions Club has scheduled its annual prime rib dinner for Saturday, <br />March 12, 2011 to be held at St. Joseph's Church, 171 Elm Street. The Lino <br />Lakes Lions Club is requesting approval of a 1 to 4 Day Temporary On -Sale <br />Liquor License. The license is necessary to allow the Lions Club to mix and <br />dispense liquor that will be served as part of the dinner. <br />The applicant is required to submit an application to the city, for approval, at least <br />30 days prior to the event and city policy requires a background check on license <br />applicants. Staff has reviewed the application and background and found no <br />reason to deny the license. <br />A copy of the application and the results of the background check are on file in <br />the city clerk's office. The Certificate of Liability Insurance required by the <br />Department of Public Safety, Alcohol & Gambling Division, will be submitted <br />upon city council approval. <br />OPTIONS: <br />1. Approve Resolution No. 11 -04 approving the Lino Lakes Lions Club <br />application for a temporary on -sale liquor license. <br />2. Deny Resolution No. 11 -04. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Approve Resolution No. 11 -04. <br />
