• <br />Council MemberRoeser introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />RESOLUTION NO. 11-3p <br />Expressing support of a county -wide integrated public safety information system and <br />the associated legislation that would continue county level bonding for collaborative <br />public safety projects; <br />WHEREAS, the Anoka County Joint Law Enforcement Council (JLEC) was formed to <br />benefit the public safety of the citizens of Anoka County; and <br />WHEREAS, the JLEC has nearly four decades of experience successfully creating and <br />managing shared services for its member communities; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Lino Lakes has actively participated in the JLEC through the <br />participation of our chief law enforcement officer and our elected officials; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the safety of the public and police and fire personnel will be enhanced by <br />improvements in the speed and accuracy of shared public safety <br />information systems; and <br />• WHEREAS, the public safety databases are aging and outdated, do not support <br />effective data sharing, and do not support data archiving and crime <br />analysis activities; and <br />WHEREAS, significant public safety staff resources may be redirected from redundant <br />data entry to more effective public safety efforts; and <br />WHEREAS, both residents of and public safety agencies in Anoka County have <br />benefitted from improved public safety, increased effectiveness, and <br />resource conservation due to the resulting economies of scale provided <br />by shared and consolidated services; and <br />WHEREAS, the JLEC desires to implement a comprehensive shared public safety <br />information system in Anoka County whereby law enforcement, fire, jail, <br />dispatch, and emergency preparedness data may be maintained and <br />shared; and <br />WHEREAS, the JLEC and the Anoka County Board support a legislative change to <br />allow the use of the specific bonding authority provided in Minnesota <br />Statute 383E to fund county -wide public safety projects; and <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Lino Lakes <br />does with this action, support and endorse a countywide integrated public safety <br />information system; and <br />
