Council Member RAFFERTY introduced the following resolution and moved its <br />• adoption: <br />CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />COUNTY OF ANOKA <br />RESOLUTION NO. 11 -48 <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING LINO LAKES LIONS CLUB <br />APPLICATION FOR A 1 TO 4 DAY TEMPORARY ON -SALE LIQUOR LICENSE AND <br />APPLICATION FOR EXEMPT LAWFUL GAMBLING <br />WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes, Chapter 340A, allows the city council to issue a <br />temporary on -sale liquor license to a non - profit organization in connection with a social <br />event sponsored by the licensee and held within the city limits; and <br />WHEREAS, the Lino Lakes Lions Club has submitted an application for a temporary on- <br />sale liquor license; and <br />WHEREAS, the Lino Lakes Lions Club has also submitted an application to conduct <br />exempt lawful gambling (raffle and paddlewheels) as part of their event at St. Joseph <br />• Catholic Church; and <br />WHEREAS, The Lino Lake Lions Club is eligible to conduct lawful gambling under the <br />city's regulations; and <br />WHEREAS, the Lino Lakes Lions Club has paid the required fee for these permits, and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Lino Lakes has conducted a background investigation of the <br />applicant, and <br />WHEREAS, the Alcohol & Gambling Enforcement Division requires the applications be <br />approved by the City of Lino Lakes City Council before submitting for approval; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Lino Lakes City Council hereby <br />approves the request of the Lino Lakes Lions Club for a temporary on -sale liquor <br />license and approval to conduct exempt lawful gambling at St. Joseph Catholic Church <br />on October 15, 2011. <br />Adopted by the Lino Lakes City Council this 9th day of May 2011. <br />• <br />
