411 Existing Transit Service <br />This section is a description of existing transit service in the City of Lino Lakes (Figure 6 -16). Lino Lakes <br />is currently served by three transit service providers: <br />• <br />• Metro Transit <br />• First Student <br />• Anoka County Traveler (ACT) <br />Metro Transit and First Student provide fixed -route transit service. ACT provides demand responsive <br />services. <br />Fixed Route Transit Service <br />Fixed route transit service includes both local and express bus service that operates on a regular schedule <br />and a follow a consistent route. Fixed -route transit service in Lino Lakes is provided by Metro Transit and <br />by First Student under contract to the Metropolitan Council. First Student provides service to downtown St. Paul using three <br />routes but less overall service. There are no 'reverse commute' runs from downtown St Paul. <br />Route 250 not only provides service to downtown Minneapolis but also provides connections to the <br />Hiawatha LRT line and Metro Transit's entire network of buses operating through the downtown area. <br />Likewise, the First Student express buses provide connections to Metro Transit routes operating through <br />downtown St Paul. <br />6 -39 <br />
