• <br />• <br />1 <br />Table 3 -2: Future Land Use Categories <br />Land Use Category <br />Description <br />Commercial <br />The purpose of this category is to accommodate retail, office and <br />service uses. <br />Industrial <br />yA <br />Mixed Use <br />The purpose of this category is to accommodate manufacturing, <br />processing, warehousing, and research and development uses. <br />The purpose of this category is to accommodate a mix of residential, <br />retail, and office uses either within one building, structure or <br />development. Residential development may include higher density <br />housing options. <br />Permanent Rural <br />The purpose of this category is to designate those areas that are not <br />intended to receive sewer service due to topography and soil issues. <br />Development in rural areas shall be limited to residential single family <br />at low densities or agriculture related uses. <br />Low Density Residential <br />The purpose of this category is to accommodate residential <br />development at 1.5 to-3:5 1.6 to 3.9 dwelling units per acre. <br />Medium Density Residential <br />The purpose of this category is to accommodate residential <br />development at 3.6 to 6.9 4.0 to 5_9 dwelling units per acre. <br />High Density Residential <br />Urban Reserve <br />The purpose of this category is to accommodate residential <br />development 7.0 to 6.0 10.0 <br />at -1-279 to units per acre. <br />The purpose of the Urban Reserve area is to preserve land for post - <br />2030 urban development. To promote an efficient future development <br />pattern in this area, land use prior to year 2030 in the Urban Reserve <br />area shall be limited to agriculture related uses and single family <br />residential limited to one unit per 10 acres. <br />The purpose of the Civic / Institutional area is to accommodate public <br />Civic / Institutional buildings or facilities, private or public utilities and infrastructure, <br />public and private schools, and cemeteries. <br />The purpose of the Parks / Open Space area is to accommodate <br />passive or active recreational areas and facilities as well as lands <br />under public control that are designated as permanently undeveloped <br />for the purpose of resource management or protection. <br />Private Airfield <br />The purpose of the Private Airfield area is to accommodate aviation <br />related uses. <br />
