This tower was constructed in 1997. In <br />2004, an inspection was performed by Mr. Dan Zienty, from SEH. Mr. Zienty's report <br />details the scope of work needed. The most significant findings include coating failures <br />at the seams on the fluted sections of the tower. None of the proposed work will occur <br />within the interior of the water containment bowl, so there will be not be any disruption <br />to our water supply. <br />• Funding for this project is from the Water Operating Fund. <br />The schedule for this project is as follows: <br />City Council Authorizes Plans and Specifications <br />City Council Approves Plans and Specifications <br />City Council Authorizes Ad for Bids <br />Open Bids <br />City Council Awards Contract <br />Substantial Completion <br />March 28, 2005 <br />May 9, 2005 <br />May 9, 2005 <br />June 2, 2005 <br />June 13, 2005 <br />September, 2005 <br />OPTIONS: <br />1. Adopt Resolution Number 05 -36, authorizing the preparation of plans and <br />specifications for Water Tower #2 Maintenance and Painting. <br />2. Do not adopt Resolution Number 05 -36. <br />3. Return to staff for further review. <br />• RECOMMENDATION: <br />Option No. 1. <br />
