• <br />Council Member O l introduced the following resolution <br />and moved its adoption: <br />CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />RESOLUTION NO. 05 - 115 <br />RESOLUTION ACCEPTING COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP GRANT FROM CENTERPOINT <br />ENERGY TO DEFRAY COSTS TO PURCHASE SIX AUTOMATIC EXTERNAL <br />DEFIBRILLATORS <br />WHEREAS, <br />WHEREAS, <br />WHEREAS, <br />WHEREAS, <br />the City of Lino Lakes submitted a Community <br />Partnership Grant application in May 2005; and <br />the purpose of submitting the application is to defray <br />costs to purchase six new Automatic External <br />Defibrillators (AED's); and <br />the equipment will be used to replace outdated and <br />unserviceable ones; and <br />as first responders to medical situations including <br />heart attacks public safety personnel have previously <br />used AED's on patients with successful results; and <br />WHEREAS, the Lino Lakes Police is the initial response in a <br />multi - tiered EMS response that includes the Centennial <br />Fire District and North Memorial Ambulance service; and <br />WHEREAS, <br />WHEREAS, <br />the equipment is compatible with equipment carried by <br />these other responders; and <br />this compatibility also allows for the Lino Lakes <br />Police to leverage training and supplies for those <br />units across all three organizations, <br />WHEREAS, the monies will be appropriated to the General Fund in <br />the following manner: <br />Increase Revenue - Contributions <br />Increase Expenditures - Police (4211) <br />$3,000.00 <br />$3,000.00 <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the Lino Lakes City Council <br />members, do hereby accept the $ 3,000.00 in grant funding to <br />defray costs to purchase the six automatic external <br />defibrillators and wishes to express )t-s gratitude to CenterPoint <br />Energy for their donations. <br />BLrgeson, Mayor <br />
