• <br />AcxNDA zrEM SA <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />COUNTY OF ANOKA <br />CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />RESOLUTION #05 -2®S? <br />THE REINERT RESOLUTION <br />THE REINERT RESOLUTION SUPPORTS THE ADDITION OF A QUESTION <br />TO THE CITY SURVEY REGARDING VIKING STADIUM FUNDING <br />WHEREAS, Anoka County and the Minnesota Vikings are proposing to construct a sports <br />stadium in the City of Blaine: and <br />WHEREAS, Anoka County is proposing to financially fund a portion of the stadium with <br />County -wide sales tax and other fees, and <br />WHEREAS, The Board of Commissioners for Anoka County have proposed legislation to enact a <br />County -Wide sales tax, which would allow the Anoka County Board of Commissioners the <br />option whether to hold a referendum to help fund the Viking stadium. <br />WHEREAS, The City of Lino Lakes has hired Decision Resources to conduct a professional <br />scientific survey of its residents to receive their opinions on various issues. <br />WHEREAS, A professionally conducted scientific survey of the residents of Lino Lakes will <br />provide a more accurate determination of opinion from the public on this issue rather then our <br />City Council acting outside of its role to speak for the citizens. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Lino Lakes City Council, directs Decision <br />Resources to develop and include a question in the Lino Lakes city survey that would ask the <br />residents of Lino Lakes if they would like to have a referendum on the adoption of a County - <br />Wide sales tax to help fund the Viking stadium. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Lino Lakes will forward <br />the results of this survey to the Anoka County Board of Commissioners for their consideration <br />and review. <br />Adopted by the City Council of Lino Lakes on December 19, 2005 <br />Attest: <br />-40 e <br />City ; lerk, Julianne Bartell <br />e deAr <br />Mayor, J.
