• <br />AGENDA ITEM 1B <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Jean Viger, Deputy Clerk <br />MEETING DATE: February 13, 2006 <br />TOPIC: Resolution 06 -12, Approving Premises Permit <br />Application, VFW Post 6583 <br />VOTE REQUIRED: Simple Majority (3/5 Vote) <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The VFW Post 6583 is renewing its gambling license, which is due to expire on April 30, <br />2006. The MN Gambling Control Board requires organizations to notify the appropriate <br />local authority at the time of application. According to Minnesota Statute 349.213, Subd. <br />2, the Gambling Control Board may not issue or renew a premises permit unless the <br />organization submits a resolution of approval from the city council. <br />The Lino Lakes Police Department has conducted a background investigation of the CEO <br />and has found no reason to deny approval. <br />Copies of the renewal application, the personal history form and the background <br />investigation results are on file in the City Clerk's office. <br />OPTIONS: <br />1. Approve Resolution 06 -12 <br />2. Deny Resolution 06 -12 <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Option No. 1 <br />
