City Council <br />HPP Applications <br />February 13, 2006 <br />• Council Member O)owwcl( introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />CITY OF LINO LAKES, MINNESOTA <br />RESOLUTION NO.06 -20 <br />SUPPORTING MAIN STREET (CSAH 14) INTERCHANGE AND ROADWAY <br />IMPROVEMENTS <br />WHEREAS, Frenchman Road /145th Street in the City of Hugo, Minnesota is <br />Washington County State Aid Highway 8 (CSAH 8); and <br />WHEREAS, upon entering Anoka County CSAH 8 becomes Anoka County State Aid <br />Highway 14 (CSAH 14 /Main Street) providing a direct connection between the cities of <br />Hugo, Lino Lakes, and Centerville, and <br />WHEREAS, the CSAH 14 /CSAH 8 corridor has an interchange access to Interstate 35E <br />(I -35E), a route on the National Highway System (NHS); and <br />WHEREAS, the CSAH 14/8 corridor will be reconstructed- from the I -35E interchange <br />area to Trunk Highway 61 as a four lane divided highway; and <br />WHEREAS, CSAH 14 will be reconstructed from I -35E to CSAH 21 as a four -lane <br />divided highway, and <br />WHEREAS, the current interchange and bridge are insufficient to meet capacity <br />demands today; and <br />WHEREAS, upon completion of the CSAH 14 /CSAH 8 corridor reconstruction the <br />existing bridge will act as a two -lane bottleneck connecting two four -lane divided <br />highways; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Lino Lakes and the County of Anoka are partnering to complete <br />the preliminary design of the new interchange; and <br />WHEREAS, this project will protect and enhance Interstate mobility, <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />LINO LAKES, MINNESOTA that; the Anoka County Interchange Improvements at I -35E <br />and Anoka County State Aid Highway 14 be authorized as a High Priority Project (HPP), <br />and <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that funds be authorized for the Federal partnership in <br />• this project. <br />4 <br />
