Council Packet — Item 1G (revised resolution) <br />Replaces Pgs 38 -39 <br />Council Member SItz_ introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />RESOLUTION NO. 06-71 <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING ACCESS CONTROL SYSTEM FOR CITY HALL <br />WHEREAS, City staff has identified the need to provide a more secure <br />environment at city hall to protect the substantial investment in capital equipment <br />such as computers and servers as well as important documents (ie. address <br />files, permits, contracts, etc); and <br />WHEREAS, Staff is recommending the installation of an Access Control System <br />for city hall; and <br />WHEREAS, An Access Control System is the best way to provide a secure <br />environment for city hall that can be controlled /monitored; and <br />WHEREAS, The total project cost is $20,845. This includes proximity card <br />readers, door status sensors, electric locks, and security management software <br />for the two exterior doors and the four interior doors leading to the employee <br />work area. Six door release buttons will also be installed at the front desk areas <br />(Administration, Community Development, and Parks and Recreation); and <br />WHEREAS, City staff will update policies and procedures to effectively manage <br />and maintain the Access Control System and to provide a secure civic complex. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF LINO LAKES, MINNESOTA. <br />1) That city staff implement the Access Control System at City Hall.
