• <br />Council Member '[fz_ introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />RESOLUTION NO. 06 -77 <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT <br />WITH COUNTY OF ANOKA, MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION <br />I -35E /COUNTY STATE AID HIGHWAY 14 INTERCHANGE <br />PRELIMINARY DESIGN <br />WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes, Section 471.59, authorizes political subdivisions to <br />enter into Joint Powers Agreements, and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Lino Lakes and the County of Anoka and the Minnesota <br />Department of Transportation (Mn /DOT) agree that it is in the best interest of the <br />traveling public to reconstruct I -35E /County State Aid Highway No. 14 (Main Street) <br />Interchange; and <br />WHEREAS, the State, County and City are in need of preliminary design services for <br />the interchange of I -35E at County State Aid Highway (CSAH) 14 from approximately <br />. 2,000 feet west of the existing interchange bridge to approximately 1,500 feet east of <br />the existing interchange bridge; and <br />WHEREAS, the County will act as lead agency, will provide day -to -day project <br />management for this Agreement and will coordinate federal funding reimbursement for <br />the overall project; and <br />WHEREAS, the County represents that it is duly qualified and agrees to perform all <br />services described in this Agreement to the satisfaction of State and City. <br />WHEREAS, the parties agree that it is in their best interest that the cost of said project <br />be shared, <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />LINO LAKES, MINNESOTA: <br />1. that the City Council hereby approves the Joint Powers Agreement with the <br />County of Anoka and the State for preliminary design services for the <br />interchange of I -35E at County State Aid Highway (CSAH) 14. <br />2. that the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute Mn /DOT <br />Agreement No. 89335. <br />Adopted by the Lino Lakes City Council this 8th day of May, 2006. <br />
