• Council Member '[fz_ introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: CITY OF LINO LAKES RESOLUTION NO. 06 -77 RESOLUTION APPROVING JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT WITH COUNTY OF ANOKA, MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION I -35E /COUNTY STATE AID HIGHWAY 14 INTERCHANGE PRELIMINARY DESIGN WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes, Section 471.59, authorizes political subdivisions to enter into Joint Powers Agreements, and WHEREAS, the City of Lino Lakes and the County of Anoka and the Minnesota Department of Transportation (Mn /DOT) agree that it is in the best interest of the traveling public to reconstruct I -35E /County State Aid Highway No. 14 (Main Street) Interchange; and WHEREAS, the State, County and City are in need of preliminary design services for the interchange of I -35E at County State Aid Highway (CSAH) 14 from approximately . 2,000 feet west of the existing interchange bridge to approximately 1,500 feet east of the existing interchange bridge; and WHEREAS, the County will act as lead agency, will provide day -to -day project management for this Agreement and will coordinate federal funding reimbursement for the overall project; and WHEREAS, the County represents that it is duly qualified and agrees to perform all services described in this Agreement to the satisfaction of State and City. WHEREAS, the parties agree that it is in their best interest that the cost of said project be shared, NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LINO LAKES, MINNESOTA: 1. that the City Council hereby approves the Joint Powers Agreement with the County of Anoka and the State for preliminary design services for the interchange of I -35E at County State Aid Highway (CSAH) 14. 2. that the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute Mn /DOT Agreement No. 89335. Adopted by the Lino Lakes City Council this 8th day of May, 2006.
