Studenski, City Engineer <br />COUNCIL MEETING DATE: June 26, 2006 <br />TOPIC: PUBLIC HEARING - Resolution No. 06 -100, Adopting Proposed <br />Assessment Roll, Lois Lane Utility Improvements <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 Vote Required <br />BACKGROUND: <br />On May 22, 2006, the City Council set the Public Hearing for the proposed <br />assessments for the Lois Lane Utility Extension project. An ad was placed in the <br />Quad Press for two weeks and the necessary notices have been mailed to <br />property owners indicating the amount of the assessment and the date of the <br />hearing. An affidavit of mailing is on file at City Hall. <br />The project is 100% assessed to the benefited property owners. The City will be <br />0 assessing $186,571.70 at this time. The remaining $209,190.80 has been <br />deferred and will be assessed at the time of the future connection. Summaries <br />of the project costs and assessments are attached. Project costs are as <br />projected in the feasibility report at a total cost of $395,762.50. <br />OPTIONS: <br />1. Adopt Resolution 06 -100, Adopting Proposed Assessment Roll for the , <br />Adopting Proposed Assessment Roll, Lois Lane Utility Improvements. <br />2. Return to staff for further review. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Option No. 1 - Staff recommends that Resolution No. 06 -100 be adopted. <br />
