• <br />Council Membercarison introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />RESOLUTION NO. 06 -121 <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT <br />WITH COUNTY OF ANOKA <br />COUNTY STATE AID HIGHWAY 14 <br />(I -35W TO I -35E) <br />WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes, Section 471.59, authorizes political subdivisions to <br />enter into Joint Powers Agreements, and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Lino Lakes and the County of Anoka agree that it is in the best <br />interest of the traveling public to reconstruct County State Aid Highway No. 14 (Main <br />Street) from I -35W to I -35E; and <br />WHEREAS, the parties are mutually agreed that the reconstruction of County State Aid <br />Highway 14 (Main Street) including construction of a bituminous trail /concrete sidewalk, <br />storm sewer system and other utilities should be done as soon as possible; and <br />• WHEREAS, the parties agree that the County shall cause the construction of County <br />State Aid Highway 14(Main Street); and <br />• <br />WHEREAS, the parties have an existing Memorandum of Understanding ( "MOU ") date <br />November 29, 2005, regarding said project; and <br />WHEREAS, the parties agree that it is in their best interest that the cost of said project <br />be shared. <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />LINO LAKES, MINNESOTA: <br />1. that the City Council hereby approves the Joint Powers Agreement with the <br />County of Anoka for the reconstruction of County State Aid Highway No. 14 <br />(Main Street) from I -35W to I -35E and authorizes the Mayor and City Clerk to <br />execute the JPA (Anoka County Contracf o. 2006 -557) on behalf of the City. <br />n e Bartell, ' ity erk <br />%L1 <br />/J.
