i <br />1 <br />Should Chapter II (Form of Government), Section 2.04 (Incompatible Offices) of <br />the Lino Lakes City Charter be amended to read as follows: (proposed new <br />language in bold print): <br />"Section 2.04 Incompatible Offices No Member of the Council <br />shall be a member of the City Charter Commission, hold any <br />paid municipal office or employment through the City other than <br />that to which elected. Further, until one (1) year after the <br />expiration of his /her term, no Mayor or Council Member shall be <br />appointed or employed by the City in a compensated position <br />which was created, or the compensation for which was increased <br />during his /her term as Mayor or Council Member." <br />2. The form of the ballot question shall be fixed as set forth in the attached <br />proposed ballot question. <br />3. Minn. Stat. § 410.12, Subd. 4 (2004) provides: <br />"If 51% of the votes cast on any amendment are in favor of its <br />adoption, copies of the amendment and certificates shall be filed, <br />as in the case of the original charter and the amendment shall <br />take effect in 30 days from the date of the election or at such <br />other time as is fixed in the amendment." <br />Adopted by the Lino Lakes City Council this 11th day of September, 2006. <br />n B t'eson, Mayor <br />Juli. nne Bartell, C y Clerk <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Council <br />Member O'Donnell and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor <br />thereof: <br />Stoltz, O'Donnell, Carlson, Reinert, Bergeson <br />The following voted against same: <br />—46d- <br />
