Council Member <br />Carlson. introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />RESOLUTION NO. 06 -178 <br />RESOLUTION ACCEPTING QUOTES AND AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR <br />2006 BOULEVARD TREE PLANTING PROJECT <br />WHEREAS, the City requires the installation of boulevard trees in conjunction with each new <br />residential development, and <br />WHEREAS, the developer has provided funds for the planting of such trees, and <br />WHEREAS, city staff has identified the number, type and location of boulevard trees to be <br />planted for the respective developments, and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to a request for quotes for the 2006 Boulevard Tree Planting project, <br />quotes were received, opened and tabulated according to law on October 13, 2006, and the <br />following quotes were received complying with the request: <br />Contractor Amount of Bid <br />Midwest Landscapes $12,611.00 <br />Fairs Nursery $13,940.00 <br />Mickman Brothers $14,960.00 <br />Great Northern Landscapes $15,970.00 <br />AND WHEREAS, Midwest Landscapes is the lowest responsible bidder; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LINO <br />LAKES, MINNESOTA: <br />1. The Mayor and Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract with <br />Midwest Landscapes in the name of the City of Lino Lakes for the planting of approximately <br />52 trees <br />2. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to retain the next lowest bidder until a <br />contract has been signed. <br />a ne Bartell ity <br />Joh . Bergeson, ayor <br />Adopted by the Lino Lakes City Council this 23rd day of October, 2006. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Council <br />Membero'Donnelland upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor <br />thereof: <br />Carlson, O'Donnell, Stoltz, Reinert, Bergeson <br />The following voted against same: <br />Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. <br />
