JUDE CHILDREN'S RESEARCH HOSPITAL DAY <br />Dreaded childhood diseases are killing many thousands <br />of children each year, and <br />only medical research provides hope of discovering the <br />still unknown causes of leukemia and other childhood <br />illnesses that strike our young, and <br />WHEREAS, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, founded by <br />Danny Thomas, is the only research center in America <br />devoted solely to basic and clinical research in these <br />catastrophic disease areas, and <br />WHEREAS, this institution is leading the way to new treatment <br />procedures that have greatly increased the rate of <br />survival, and <br />WHEREAS, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital depends upon <br />public support to continue this vital work; <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of <br />Lino Lakes that; <br />1. May 16, 1981 is declared St. Jude Children's <br />Research Hospital Day in the City of Lino Lakes. <br />2. That all Churches, Schools, Citizens, Business <br />Establishments, Social, Civic and Fraternal <br />organizations are urged to give their support and <br />cooperation to this worthwhile project. <br />Passed by the Council of the City of Lino Lakes this Z 7 +4day <br />of April, 1981. <br />ATTEST: <br />Edna L.
