• <br />• <br />RESOLUTION #83 -06 <br />RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE LOCATION OF A RACING FACILITY WITHIN <br />THE CITY OF BLAINE, ANOKA COUNTY, MINNESOTA. <br />WHEREAS, <br />WHEREAS, <br />WHEREAS, <br />WHEREAS, <br />WHEREAS, <br />a State Constitutional Amendment allowing pari - mutuel <br />betting was approved by Minnesota voters on November <br />2, 1982, and <br />voters of the City of Lino Lakes approved the above <br />mentioned Amendment by a 74% margin, and <br />there appears to be a general public support for the <br />establishment of a racing facility within the area, <br />and <br />locating a major State wide recreational facility in <br />Northern portion of the Twin Cities area would provide <br />balance to the Metropolitan communities and equity <br />within the region, and <br />the City Council of the City of Lino Lakes believes the <br />location of a racing facility within the City of Blaine <br />would contribute significantly to the economy of the <br />entire County. <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, That: <br />1. The Lino Lakes City Council hereby fully supports <br />the location of a racing facility with the City <br />of Blaine. <br />2.
