• <br />CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />COUNTY OF ANOKA <br />RESOLUTION NO. 12 -28 <br />SUBMITTING AN OUTDOOR RECREATION <br />GRANT APPLICATION TO THE MINNESOTA DNR <br />WHEREAS, In 1999, the City of Lino Lakes acquired 62 acres of property located at the <br />southeast corner of Birch Street (CSAH 10) and Centerville Road (CSAH 21) for <br />development of a Recreation Complex; and <br />WHEREAS, Phase One development of the Lino Lakes Recreation Complex consists of <br />two multi - purpose (soccer, football, lacrosse, etc) fields, two youth baseball fields, gravel <br />trails, and a gravel parking lot. The City of Lino Lakes owns the property in its entirety <br />and therefore no lands will need to be acquired as part of this project; and <br />WHEREAS, Development of the Recreation Complex has been a priority for the City <br />since 1991 when the Comprehensive Park and Trail Plan was developed. The need for <br />improved recreation opportunities has been expressed by residents in community surveys <br />and the 20/20 Vision Community Planning Project. Additionally, the City's vision as well <br />as the growth and increased number of organized sports participants within the City and <br />surrounding areas has necessitated the need for a Recreation Complex. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF LINO LAKES, MINNESOTA: <br />That the City of Lino Lakes act as legal sponsor for the Project contained in the Outdoor <br />Recreation Grant Application to be submitted on March 30, 2012 and that the Public <br />Services Director is hereby authorized to apply to the Department of Natural Resources <br />for funding of this project on behalf of the City of Lino Lakes. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Lino Lakes has the legal authority to <br />apply for financial assistance, and financial capability to meet the match requirement and <br />ensure adequate construction, operation, maintenance and replacement of the proposed <br />project for its design life. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Lino Lakes has not incurred any <br />development costs described in the grant program regulations. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that upon approval of its application by the state, <br />the City of Lino Lakes may enter into an agreement with the State of Minnesota for the <br />above - referenced project, and that the City of Lino Lakes certifies that it will comply <br />with all applicable laws and regulations as stated in the grant agreement including <br />dedicating the park property for outdoor recreation uses into perpetuity. <br />
