• <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />AGENDA ITEM 1 -E <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Mary Alice Divine <br />MEETING DATE: August 26, 2012 <br />TOPIC: Consideration of Resolution No. 12 -50 Accepting a <br />Donation from TC Gateway for Blue Heron Days Festival <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 <br />INTRODUCTION <br />Twin Cities Gateway donated $6,552.00 in 2012 for promotion and growth of events held in <br />the City. <br />BACKGROUND <br />Twin Cities Gateway, the convention and tourism bureau serving nine northeast metro cities, <br />provides an annual donation based on a percentage of the contribution each city brings in from <br />hotel taxes to be used for expansion and promotion of events held within the city. This year's <br />contribution will be administered by the Quad Area Chamber of Commerce for Blue Heron <br />Days, and will be used to add entertainment and promote the event. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Adopt Resolution No. 12 -50. <br />ATTACHMENTS <br />1.
