• • CITY OF LINO LAKES RESOLUTION NO. 12 -78 AUTHORIZING A SPECIAL EVENT PERMIT AND TEMPORARY LIQUOR LICENSE FOR AN OUTDOOR PICNIC EVENT AT AMERICAN LEGION POST 566 ON AUGUST 18, 2012. WHERAS, the manager of American Legion Post 566 has submitted an application for a special event permit and a 1 to 4 day temporary liquor license in conjunction with an event planned for August 18, 2012; and WHERAS, the event plans include a barbeque, live music and beverages; and WHERAS, as part of the event the Post would like to allow consumption of alcoholic beverages in a fenced area outside of but contiguous to their building; and WHERAS, the Post has indicated that all patrons or members attending the event will receive a proper identification check to ensure no underage alcohol service will occur; and WHERAS, the Centennial Fire District Chief has reviewed the plans for the event, that includes erecting a canopy, has provided conditions for the permit and will inspect the area for safety as the site is assembled; and WHERAS, the Police Department has reviewed the application and event plans; and WHERAS, proof of general and liquor liability insurance has been submitted by the Post; and WHERAS, the Alcohol & Gambling Enforcement Division requires that this type of temporary liquor application be approved by the City of Lino Lakes City Council before submitting for approval to the Liquor Control Board; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by The City Council of The City of Lino Lakes, Minnesota: That the City Council authorizes issuance of a Special Event Permit and grants local approval of a 1 -4 day temporary liquor license to American Legion Post 566 for a special event on August 18, 2012, with the conditions attached hereto. Adopted by the Council of the City of Lino Lakes this 23rd day of July, 2012. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was introduced by Council Member Rafferty and was duly seconded by Council Member Roeser and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Rafferty, Roeser, O'Donnell, Reinert The following voted against same: none (Absent - Stoesz)
