• <br />• <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: <br />MEETING DATE: <br />TOPIC <br />VOTE REQUIRED: <br />INTRODUCTION <br />AGENDA ITEM 1G <br />Julie Bartell, City Clerk <br />August 13, 2012 <br />Consider Resolution No. 12 -82, Approving a <br />Temporary Liquor License for the House District 53A <br />Republicans All American Pig Roast <br />Simple Majority (3/5 Vote Required) <br />The House District 53A Republicans organization is hosting the "All American Pig Roast" <br />fundraiser. <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Mr. James Keefe, 6300 Rolling Hills Drive contacted the city about holding a fundraising event <br />on his property. The event is planned for August 16, 2012 between the hours of 4:00 and 10:00 <br />p.m. Mr. Keefe has completed the necessary Special Event Permit application. <br />The event sponsor has also submitted an application for a 1 to 4 Day Temporary On -sale Liquor <br />License to allow the sale of beverages at this event. Although temporary on -sale liquor licenses are <br />issued by the Minnesota Department of Public Safety, local approval is required. The application <br />meets city requirements and the background information on the applicant and a current insurance <br />policy is on file at City Hall. <br />Therefore, staff is presenting, for council consideration, a resolution approving the issuance of a <br />temporary on -sale liquor license and authorization to city staff to grant a Special Event Permit to <br />House District 53A Republicans to hold the All American Pig Roast event. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Approval of Resolution No 12 -82, approving the issuance of a temporary on -sale liquor license <br />and authorization to city staff to grant a special event permit to House District 53A Republicans, <br />for the All American Pig Roast event. <br />
