CITY COUNCIL <br />AGENDA ITEM 6Bi <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Michael Grochala, Community Development Director <br />MEETING DATE: September 22, 2014 <br />TOPIC: Consider Resolution No. 14-108, Approving Plans & Specifications <br />and Authorizing Advertisement for Bids, Well No. 6 <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 Vote Required <br />INTRODUCTION <br />Staff is requesting Council authorization to approve plans and specifications and authorize <br />advertisement for bids for the construction of Well No. 6. <br />BACKGROUND <br />In accordance with the City's Comprehensive Water Supply Plan, construction of Well No. 6 was <br />recommended to accommodate the City's municipal water demand. The well will be located at <br />Birch Park on property acquired as part of the Preserve at Lino Lakes project. The estimated <br />project cost is $250,000. Funding for the improvement is provided from the City's Area and Unit <br />Trunk Fund. <br />The estimated schedule for this project is as follows: <br />City Council Authorizes Advertisement for Bids <br />Bid Opening <br />City Council Consider Accepting Bids <br />Construction Start <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />September 22, 2014 <br />October 22, 2014 <br />October 27, 2014 <br />November 2014 <br />Staff recommends adoption of Resolution 14-108 Approving Plans and Specifications and <br />Authorizing Advertisement for Bids for the construction of Well No. 6. <br />ATTACHMENTS <br />1.
