• <br />• <br />• <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />AGENDA ITEM 3A <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Lisa Hogstad - Osterhues, Deputy City Clerk <br />MEETING DATE: July 22, 2013 <br />TOPIC Consider Resolution No. 13 -80, Approving a <br />Special Event Permit for The Tavern on Main Tent <br />Event on August 16 & 17, 2013 <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 <br />INTRODUCTION <br />The owner of The Tavern on Main, Mr. Chad Wagner, has applied to the City for permission to <br />conduct a special event on his property at 8001 Lake Drive on August 16 and 17. Mr. Wagner <br />has held a similar event for the past several years during the Lino Lakes Blue Heron Days <br />festival. <br />BACKGROUND <br />Mr. Wagner has submitted an application for a special event permit, noting that his event will <br />include a tent in his parking lot with live music, food and alcoholic beverages. Staff has been <br />working with him to ensure that the event plans meet appropriate state and local regulations. In <br />past years, the placement of the tent has been an issue as far as setback. Mr. Wagner has <br />addressed the setback issue by acquiring a lease of adjacent land. <br />A list of conditions has been developed relating to the application and event. All conditions are <br />set forth as Attachment A to Resolution No. 13 -80 and it is recommended that they be attached if <br />the Council elects to approve this permit. Mr. Wagner has reviewed and accepted the <br />conditions. <br />The applications, site plan and all background information are available for review in the City <br />Clerk's Office. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Approve Resolution No. 13 -80, Authorizing a Special Event Permit for The Tavern on Main <br />Tent Event on August 16 and 17, 2013, with the conditions as set forth <br />
