• <br />• <br />ATTACHMENT A <br />CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />COUNTY OF ANOKA <br />SUMMARY OF ORDINANCE NO. 07-13 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3, SUBDIVISION 4.Q OF THE LINO LAKES <br />ZONING ORDINACE ENTITLED REQUIRED SCREENING, LANDSCAPING, AND <br />BUFFER YARDS <br />The purpose of this ordinance amendment is to clarify existing and establish new <br />landscaping standards to promote high quality site development, compatibility of uses, and to <br />enhance the health, safety and general welfare of the residents of the community. <br />Section 1.a. Definitions. <br />The definition of "Foundation Landscape Zone" was modified to better define the zone. <br />The definition of "Vehicular Hardscape" was added. <br />Section 3. Canopy Cover Standards. <br />The definition of Vehicular Hardscape was deleted and moved to the definition's section. <br />Permitted exterior storage areas where added as an exemption. <br />Section 4. Foundation Landscape Standards. <br />This section was modified to eliminate the requirements for foundation plantings on rear and <br />sides but requires all front and street facing sides to include plantings. This includes sides facing <br />private streets. Allows for trees planted within 30 feet of the building to be considered part of <br />the foundation plantings. The substitution ratios for smaller plant materials were changed to <br />simplify calculations. <br />Section 5. Open Areas Landscape Standards. <br />The substitution ratios for smaller plant materials were changed to simplify calculations. <br />Subpart g that establishes the requirement for areas to be landscaped was deleted and relocated to <br />the General Landscaping Standards section (Section 9). <br />Section 6. Buffer and Screen Requirements. <br />The screening requirement for development abutting adjacent, less intense, residential uses was <br />amended to clarify that screening would not be required on sides considered to be the front of a <br />property. <br />• Section 7. Boulevard Tree Standards. <br />
