AGENDA ITEM 01-4 <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Marty Asleson <br />DATE: January 31, 2001 <br />TOPIC: VFW Land Sale <br />BACKGROUND: The VFW owns land on the North side of Apollo Drive and <br />West of Lake Drive. The parcel is immediately adjacent to, and West of <br />Lakeland National Bank. The VFW wishes to sell 1.5 acres and have this area <br />surveyed. Please see map. <br />Issues: I see no issues at this time. There is an oak woodland to the west of <br />the bank and businesses to the North. This wood land is present on the East <br />side of the VFW parcel. When the Bank property was reviewed, the oak <br />woodland was discussed because it may be necessary to build an access road <br />through this area. The landscaping on the bank site was intended to extend this <br />woodland twords Lake Drive between the bank and future uses to the North. <br />RECOMMENDATION: Approve the VFW request to sell and survey the parcel. <br />
