AGENDA ITEM 1 - 06
STAFF ORIGINATOR: Marty Asleson
DATE: 1/31/01
TOPIC: Apitz Property Subdivision
BACKGROUND: Mr. Rockey Goertz and Mr. Larry Grubbs are proposing to split
3.98 acres from 39.6 acre parcel and hold for future development. The balance
of the 39 acres is planned for single family, multi family and some commercial. A
sketch plan is tentatively scheduled for formal submittal in April.
have enclosed the sketch plan.
The purpose of this green sheet is to make recommendations on the submitted request
for the minor subdivision.
Enclosed you will find the minor subdivision proposal, and a couple of GIS prints of the
soils and water relationships.
Mr. Rockey Goertz will be at the meeting for discussion and your initial impressions of
the proposed sketch plan to the north.
RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommendation is to approve the minor
subdivision. However, there are many issues that need to be addressed. The
future use is directly adjacent to a lake. There would be a desire to buffer this
area. There is a major greenway connection proposed from the west that would
be possible after the new bridge on 49 is built. This greenway would definitely
have a trail in it so room is needed to keep this off the biologic edges. A closer
look at the vegetation would be needed as soon as spring comes.
