DATE: April 10, 2007 RESOLUTION #2007 -44 OFFERED BY COMMISSIONER: Berg • • • RESOLUTION TO PROHIBIT PARKING ON COUNTY STATE AID HIGHWAY NO. 14 (MAIN STREET) FROM INTERSTATE 35W THROUGH INTERSTATE 35E INTERCHANGE WHEREAS, the Anoka County Board of Commissioners is responsible for the planning, construction, and maintenance of the county highway system; and, WHEREAS, the recognition of the need to regulate parking on segments of the county highway system, in response to changes in traffic patterns, adjoining development, and reconstruction of highways, is a responsibility of the county board of commissioners; and, WHEREAS, Anoka County, in cooperation with the Minnesota Department of Transportation and the Cities of Lino Lakes and Centerville, are planning to reconstruct County State Aid Highway No. 14 (Main Street) from Interstate 35W through the Interstate 35E interchange; and, WHEREAS, this reconstruction will not accommodate parking on either side of County State Aid Highway No. 14 (Main Street) with the exception of Dupre Road to Mill Road which will have westbound parking only; and, WHEREAS, this reconstruction will not accommodate parking on either side of County State Aid Highway No. 54 (20th Avenue); and, WHEREAS, federal and state aid funds will be expended to construct theses improvements; and, WHEREAS, approval of this resolution as a federal and state aid project is conditional upon the establishment of certain parking restrictions; and, WHEREAS, the Cities of Lino Lakes and Centerville are in concurrence with these parking restrictions: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Anoka County Board of Commissioners approves the prohibition of parking along County State Aid Highway No. 14 (Main Street) and County State Aid Highway No. 54 (20th Avenue) as follows: A. CSAH No. 14: No Parking Anytime from I -35W to Dupre Road; B. CSAH No. 14: No Parking Anytime from Dupre Road to Mill Road for eastbound only; C. CSAH No. 14: No Parking Anytime from Mill Road to I -35E; D. CSAH No. 54: No Parking Anytime from CSAH 14 to N. Robin Lane. BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the county engineer be authorized to install signs as deemed necessary for the proper enforcement and that certified copies of this resolution be forwarded to the State Commissioner of Transportation and the Cities of Lino Lakes and Centerville.
