62
September 14, 1981
Mrs. Elsenpeter. Motion carried unanimously.
OPEN MIKE
Mr. Peter Scherer was scheduled but had called to say he was ill.
Mrs. Averbeck had called at 4:00 P.M. this date and requested Sharon
Jenson be put on this agenda
Sharon Henson was recognized by Mayor Gourley and she asked, that since a
decision on allowing Lino Lakes to connect to the Circle Pines system had
been delayed by the City Pines Utility Commission, what now? Why don't
you just drop the whole thing?
Mayor Gourley said the outlet in Circle Pines was only one aternative.
There is a second alternative of using the outlet in the interceptor on
North Road which is a Metropolitan Waste Control Commission facility.
Mr. Al Ross asked for clarification of this proposed ocnnection - what
size? Mayor Gourley said it would be a 6" force main. the same as the one
proposed for the Circle Pines connection. He added that according to the
Engineers, the costs are approximately the same.
Mr. Ross asked permission to question Mr. Gotwald on this matter and he
asked Mr. Gotwald if this was correct.
Mr. Gotwald said there is capacity in the interceptor for the City of
Lino Lakes. It would be necessary to construct a force main to a point
of interception. Insofar as the cost was concerned, Mr. Gotwald said he
would not discuss that point without studying the plans and specifications
CLERK'sREPORT
The Clerk reported that on August 26, 1981, a petition asking for a State
Audit of the City had been delivered to her office. She had contacted
the State Auditor's office for an approximate cost and conld not get a
figure. The State Autitor's office will be contacting the City ofn Sept.
26, 1981.
Mr. Schumacher reported that he and Mayor Gourley had discussed this matter
with teh League of Minnesota Cities and their estimate is that this would
be approximately double of what a private auditor would cost. The City's
costs for last year's audit was $7100.00 - this would indicate this audit
will cost the City between 10 and 20 Thousand dollars.
The petition asks for the audit to be done from January 1, 1980 thorough
June 30, 1981.
CONTRACT FOR CODIFICATION
Mr. Schumacher presented the contract for the codification of all City
ordinances. This contract is with teh firm of Collins, Hoff & Allen and
Mr. George Hoff is the person who would be doing the work. The contract
price for the work is $5,250.00. There is an iption of haing an addition
fifty copies printed for an additional cost of $2000.00. Mr. Schumacher
recommended approving this contract for the codification without the
additional copies.
Mr. McLean moved to approve the contract for the codification of all City
Ordinances at a cost of $5,250.00 withoutthe additional printing. Seconded
