Layne Minnesota Company - $5,485.00; Industrial Pump
and Motor Service - $6,175.00; and Mc Carthy Well - $8,723.30.
Mr. Volk felt that, if when the well shaft is pulled, if it is corroded
badly, it would be better to replace the shaft with a stainless steel shaft.
This would increase the cost, but this type of shaft would never need to be
replaced. The cost would increase to; Layne - $7,165.00; Industrial -
$7,750.00; and McCarthy - $10,338.00
Mr. Volk asked for approval on the stainless steel shaft, with the decision
on whether to replace the existing shaft with the same type or to install
the stainless steel being left to his discreation when the shaft is pulled
and he can inspect the condition of the existing shaft.
Mr. McLean moved to approve the pulling of the well and to accept the quote
of Layne Minnesota Company in the amount of $7,165.00 to include the in-
stallation of a stainless steel shaft, if Mr. Volk feels it is needed.
