JUNE +.‹ 1983 21 The Council questioned gaining access at that point. After some discussion on this matter, the Councilrequested that Mrs. Drewlo put her desires in a letter and mail tothe Council. The Council will contact the County as to their plans for this road. 61. Mr. Marier moved, that upon receipt of this letter, Mr. Schumacher is to contact the County Engineer and Mr. Torkildson (this road abuts the County Park) for their intent as to the installation of this County "Road. Seconded by MR. Reinert. Motion carried unanimously. PLANNING AND ZONING ACTIONS Variance - Gary Volk - this is a varinace request to sell .4 acres of his lot to hisneighbor for the purpose of constructing a garage. Mr. Volk would have 2 acres left in his lot. The Planning and Zoning has recommend- ed this variance be'.:3ehied. After discussing thisrequest, Mr. REinert moved to deny the request in that there is no hardship cif the land and there is an alternative spot for the construction of the garage. Seconded by MR. Marier. Motion carried with Mrs. Elsenpeter voting, No. Mrs. Elsenpeter suggested thatthe Planning and Zoning Board be made aware of the fact that thenew Ordinance is just a guide and is not law yet. COMPREHENSIVE PLAN AMENDMENTS - CENTERVILLE - SHOREVIEW - Mr. Kluegel reported thses amendments had been presented to the Planning and Zoning Board and they had recommended approval. Mr. Reinert moved to approve theamendments to the Centerville and Shoreview Comprehensive Plans. SEconded by M. Marier., Motion carried unanimously. PARKING- ,TRUCKS IN R -1, AREA - Mr. Kluegel reported that he and chebked with six other commuhit es and none allow the parking of semi tractors in a residential area. There was discussion as to the weight ofthese units, possible damage to streets, noise and air pollution. Mrs. Elsenpeter moved to publish a notice in the paper that this subject wilibe discussed in an open forum at the July 11, 1983 meeting. Seconded by Mr. Marier. Motion carried unanimously. ENGINEER'S REPORT Mr. Davidson reported on the proposal for theextnsion of Lois Lane as proposed by Mr. Videen. The estimated costs would require a letter of credit in the amount of $182,650.00 and a $1000:00 Escrow account to cover the Engineering. There was discussion on thedrainage as approved by Rice•Creek Watershed District and the matter of a holding pond at thefront of two lots. Mayor Benson questioned the West end of Lois Lane - Mr. Davidson said this is not the responsibility of Mr. Videen. Mr. Videen asked about theCity. providing a bond issue for the installation of this street and Mr. Davidson said he had not reviewed these plans and specifications on that basis.
