The Council <br />will contact the County as to their plans for this road. <br />61. <br />Mr. Marier moved, that upon receipt of this letter, Mr. Schumacher is to <br />contact the County Engineer and Mr. Torkildson (this road abuts the County <br />Park) for their intent as to the installation of this County "Road. <br />Seconded by MR. Reinert. Motion carried unanimously. <br />PLANNING AND ZONING ACTIONS <br />Variance - Gary Volk - this is a varinace request to sell .4 acres of <br />his lot to hisneighbor for the purpose of constructing a garage. Mr. Volk <br />would have 2 acres left in his lot. The Planning and Zoning has recommend- <br />ed this variance be'.:3ehied. <br />After discussing thisrequest, Mr. REinert moved to deny the request in <br />that there is no hardship cif the land and there is an alternative spot <br />for the construction of the garage. Seconded by MR. Marier. Motion <br />carried with Mrs. Elsenpeter voting, No. <br />Mrs. Elsenpeter suggested thatthe Planning and Zoning Board be made aware <br />of the fact that thenew Ordinance is just a guide and is not law yet. <br />COMPREHENSIVE PLAN AMENDMENTS - CENTERVILLE - SHOREVIEW - Mr. Kluegel <br />reported thses amendments had been presented to the Planning and Zoning <br />Board and they had recommended approval. <br />Mr. Reinert moved to approve theamendments to the Centerville and Shoreview <br />Comprehensive Plans. SEconded by M. Marier., Motion carried unanimously. <br />PARKING- ,TRUCKS IN R -1, AREA - Mr. Kluegel reported that he and chebked <br />with six other commuhit es and none allow the parking of semi tractors in <br />a residential area. There was discussion as to the weight ofthese units, <br />possible damage to streets, noise and air pollution. <br />Mrs. Elsenpeter moved to publish a notice in the paper that this subject <br />wilibe discussed in an open forum at the July 11, 1983 meeting. Seconded <br />by Mr. Marier. Motion carried unanimously. <br />ENGINEER'S REPORT <br />Mr. Davidson reported on the proposal for theextnsion of Lois Lane as <br />proposed by Mr. Videen. The estimated costs would require a letter of <br />credit in the amount of $182,650.00 and a $1000:00 Escrow account to <br />cover the Engineering. <br />There was discussion on thedrainage as approved by Rice•Creek Watershed <br />District and the matter of a holding pond at thefront of two lots. <br />Mayor Benson questioned the West end of Lois Lane - Mr. Davidson said <br />this is not the responsibility of Mr. Videen. <br />Mr. Videen asked about theCity. providing a bond issue for the installation <br />of this street and Mr. Davidson said he had not reviewed these plans and <br />specifications on that basis. <br />
