1 <br />1 <br />1 <br />April 23, 1984 <br />223 <br />Mr. Reinert felt there was a few unanswered quesitons. Mr. Reinert <br />moved to table this question for more information. Seconded by Mr. <br />Marier. Motion carried unanimously. <br />SEMINARS AND CONFERENCES <br />The various conferences scheduled for the Police Departmen was discussed. <br />Chief Myhre noted the ones that msut be attended by the officers and <br />how ofter some of the seminars are held. It was pointed out that many <br />of these seminars cost is reimburseable through the State. <br />Mayor Benson asked that this list be broken down to which seminars are <br />mandatory, which are reimbursed, how ofter officers must attend, how <br />are the officers paid, how many hours each officer spends in attending? <br />Mayor Benson asked boutthe assistant listed under Public Works - does <br />this mean two persons are attending? Mr. Volk said, Yes. He requested <br />this be documented further for all departments. He aksed that the <br />seminars be listed by priority - which ones must be attended - how <br />often? Mr. Schumacher was asked to have this done for the next meeting. <br />UPDATE ON PROPOSED WOOD FUELED SYSTEM OLD BUSINESS <br />Mr. Schumacher reported on the meeting attended at the Governor's office <br />on the proposal. The fact that the local communities were not notified <br />of this proposal was a major item. Senator DAhl has added legislation <br />that the prison is not to be considered for such a proposal at any time. <br />Mayor Benson asked that a letter besent to Senator Dahl thanking him <br />for his assistance in this matter. <br />LETTER FROM LEXINGTON CANCELLING FIRE CONTRACT Mr. Schumacher had <br />included this letter in the packets for their information - noting <br />this contract will be cancelled as of December 31, 1984. <br />Mayor Benson requested a letter be sent to the City of Lexington thank= <br />ing them for their service to this City over the years and for their <br />consideration in cancelling the Contract. <br />Mayor Benson said he had a few comments on the letter that was inserted <br />in the newspapers in reference to the precinct split and the comments <br />were good. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />Mayor Benson asked if there had been any response to the request for <br />applicants for the Fire Commission and it was noted there had been none <br />as of this date. <br />The Clerk was instructed to readvertise and expand on the wording. <br />LEAGUE CONFERENCE REVIEW - This is the annual conference to be held in <br />Duluth this year. Mr. Schumacher had checked off some of the smeinars <br />to he held at this conference that he flet would be advantageous for <br />Council members to attend. <br />Mayor Benson noted that if there are members of the Council who wish to <br />
